Product Info: Historically made from recycled wire, today's weavers now use anealed steel core wire. It mimics the vibrant look of traditional telephone wire, but with greater durability and consistancy. Each basket is intricately woven by hand in KwaZulu-Natal using a technique that starts from the rim and works downward over a mould. This method allows for precision and shape, while preserving the individuality of each object. Every basket in this collection is one of a kind, alive with colour, craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
Care Instructions: The telephone wire baskets can be used as funcional objects or as display pieces. They can be cleaned gently with warm water and a mild detergent if necessary.
